GoAir to buy 10 A-320 aircraft

Wadia group`s low cost carrier GoAir today signed an agreement with Airbus Industries to acquire 10 A-320s with an option of purchasing 10 more.

The agreement was signed at the ongoing Airshow here by Airbus President and CEO Christian Streiss and Goair Managing Director Jeh Wadia.

The aircraft would be powered by CSM international engines and would have an all economy configuration of 180 seats.

After signing the agreement, Wadia said these aircraft would enable Goair to develop its domestic network and introduce new routes in India.

“We are delighted to sign this agreement which also expresses our long standing confidence in the A-320 family of aircraft. By these new aircraft we will be able to offer our `fly-smart` experience to passengers throughout the country”, Wadia said.

The Airbus Chief said the agreement signifies the growth of Goair as well as the increasing popularity of A-320 aircraft.
